Her upcoming book, Brown.Female.Doctor. (Monash University Publishing) explores identity, resilience, and the challenges of being a woman of color in medicine. Drawing from her experience as a first-generation migrant and female doctor, she sheds light on race, gender, and professional hierarchy in medicine, advocating for a more inclusive healthcare system.
Clinically, Dr. Arachchi specialises in paediatrics, focusing on behavioural and developmental challenges, sleep, infections, and parenting support. She is passionate about bridging the gap between medical expertise and everyday family concerns, equipping parents with the knowledge they need to support their children’s health.
A sought-after speaker, she has addressed audiences at Creative Careers in Medicine, AMA Victoria’s Women in Medicine forums, and paediatric educational events on women in medicine, work-life balance, paediatrics, and the intersection of race and gender in professional spaces.
